EMPOWER INDIA was established in the year 1991 by Mr. A. Sankar with a voluntary participation of a team of dedicated Development activists, Health Care Professionals , Academicians and Researchers who are committed to Social Justice.
EMPOWER INDIA is a registered Civil Society Organisation working in the grassroots communities for the past 33 years. Accredited to United Nations Environment Programme & United Nations Convention to Combat Decertification . Received the best Consumer Voluntary Consumer Organistion Award from the Government of TamilNadu. Also having special status with United Nations Economic and social council – ECOSOC too.

d EMPOWER INDIA is registered with the Ministry of Home Affairs to receive Foreign Contributions under the Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (FCRA).
d Mr. A.Sankar is the Chief Functionary and Executive Director.
OBJECTIVES
1. To empower the marginalized communities such as Women, Children and
Youth of socially and economically disadvantaged communities.
2. To promote women’s rights and campaign against violence against women
3. To promote child rights and campaign against exploitation of children
4. To impart consumer awareness education, offer consumer guidance, campaign against unfair trade practices, to work on civic and environmental issues affecting the people through research and social action
5. To prevent the spread of STD/HIV/AIDS among high-risk behaviour groups
and care to those affected by HIV/AIDS.
6. To enhance reproductive rights and to carry out research in the area of
reproductive health
7. To prevent alcoholism and drug abuse and to offer de-addiction and
Rehabilitation.
8. To promote art and craft to enhance the quality of life of the community.
9. To promote Science and Technology to improve the quality of life
10. To impart skill development training for promoting micro enterprise among
women and youth.
11. To create awareness to protect, preserve and promote environmental equilibrium for harmonious living with nature.
12. To promote living arts for the development, regeneration and livelihood of the community.
